In 2019, HBO presented a parent’s worst nightmare with the premiere of the groundbreaking series, Euphoria. Zendaya produced the point of view shifting, trippy, mind drifting creation of Sam Levinson. The show takes a deep dive into teenage drug use, drug dealing, and depression. The family relationships are raw and strained, and interpersonal relationships–both romantic and platonic–are complicated and real. The show explores gender and sexual identity, grief, assault, teen pregnancy, and more. Think Dawson’s Creek on steroids—or rather Fentanyl.
While fans are in the dark about the full season’s release date, HBO has announced that two special episodes will air in December.
